A Memory Exchanger is built first to facilitate this need. The building provides information about the history of the site and a space for public gathering where decisions are made about the future of the site. The proposed program includes different forms of cultural production -- mass media, video, cinema, theater, music, and the fine arts – to record the collective memory of the city of Montreal. Once the forms of cultural production are set, they are linked to the Memory Exchanger allowing space and time for reflection and interaction. The form and the language of the connectors are derived from the events in the buildings they depart from. An affinity or a constant is established between each point, serving as an immediate aid to memory.
