The Grand Museum of Egypt, Cairo, Egypt 2003 International Architecture Competition, Finalist Team: Maria Aiolova, Tunch Gungor
This proposal for the Great Egyptian Museum in Cairo is part of this astounding evolution providing the means for new appreciation of the relation between an object and the space around it. The sole task of the proposal is the awakening of new intelligences and pleasures, seeking to revitalize area and create a new pole of attraction. Above all, the artifact and the way is displayed remains in the center of the proposal and it becomes the window to the story told by the new museum. |
